FIRE UPDATES:

Mendocino Complex Fires
295,970 acres – 59% contained
Structures Destroyed: 147 residences / 118 other
Total Fire Personnel: 3221
With minimal humidity recovery during nighttime operations the Ranch Fire was very active in the northwest corner and continued to burn towards Lake Pillsbury.

Carr Fire
202,976 acres – 61% contained
Structures Destroyed: 1,077 residences, 22 commercial structures, 500 outbuildings
Total Fire Personnel: 4,641
Firefighters continued to strengthen containment lines throughout the night. Fire is located in steep drainages, with varying wind exposure.

Taylor Creek and Klondike Fires
48,257 acres – 45% contained
55,247 acres – 15% contained
The change in wind direction from the northeast to the northwest has the potential to increase fire growth due to the alignment of the drainages.

The Humboldt Amateur Radio Club is having it’s second Tuesday workshop tomorrow, August 14th, 1900L at the regular H.A.R.C. meeting place, 11th & E, Eureka. Topic of the evening is SSB/linear satellite operation.
